French Blue Copper Marans (Alchemist Line)
The same chocolate-dark Marans egg — laid by a stunning blue-feathered bird.
We spent years searching for a French Blue Copper Marans line that could lay an egg as dark as the Black Copper Marans line. Most Blue Copper Marans available in the US produce noticeably lighter eggs — typically in the 3-4 range on the Marans color chart. After patient searching and proving the line on our own farm, we have a Blue Copper Marans line that lays as dark as our Black Copper Marans — which means you get the same chocolate-dark egg in a blue-feathered bird.
They are gorgeous, productive, and quintessentially Marans in temperament: calm, observant, predator-wise.

Common Questions
Why are these more expensive than the Black Copper Marans?
Genuine French Blue Copper Marans that lay properly dark eggs are rare in the US. We searched for years to source this line and have refined it carefully on our farm. The pricing reflects the rarity and the breeding investment.
Are Blue Copper Marans eggs lighter than Black Copper eggs?
Usually yes — at most hatcheries, Blue Copper Marans eggs run 1-2 points lighter on the chart than Black Copper. Our Alchemist Line is the exception: we specifically bred for color parity, so our Blue Copper eggs match our Black Copper eggs.
Will they breed true?
Blue is a heterozygous color — when bred to blue, you’ll get roughly 50% blue, 25% black, and 25% splash offspring. To maintain a blue flock long-term, breeders typically pair blue × black or work with splash birds.
Can I get both Black and Blue Copper Marans in the same order?
Yes — they ship together fine and can be raised in the same brooder.
