Ameraucana a new release for 2026
We have searched far and wide for a robust and sweet line of Ameraucana, after working with these birds quietly here for a few years we are finally ready to release the chicks for sale. Adults have lovely plumage, clean legs and pea combs. They are predator wise, steady layers of really lovely true sky blue eggs. Chicks are personable and have the sweetest little bearded faces.
Our line produces chicks that hatch out in predominantly splash coloring. When you checkout you can request blue and black if you have a feather color preference and we will do our best to accommodate you.
These breed breeds true and is only offered straight run, meaning each chick has a 50/50 chance of being male or female 🙂

Ameraucanas are the only American purebred chicken that lays a true sky-blue egg — not blue-green, not powder, but a clean, robin’s-egg blue that breeds true generation after generation. Our Ameraucanas are predator-wise, steady layers with the breed’s signature bearded face — fluffy muffs of feathers around the cheeks that give them their unmistakable look. Most chicks will hatch as splash plumage; if you’d prefer blue or black, you can request a color preference at checkout.

Shipping is a flat $60 for up to 20 chicks, $90 for 20-40 chicks and $150 for 40-80 chicks. Seasonal minimums: 10 chicks March-May and October, 6 chicks June-September. Local farm pickup is free with no minimum (we recommend at least two chicks so none is brooded alone).

Ameraucanas are a recognized purebred — they breed true and consistently lay true sky-blue eggs. Easter Eggers are any chicken carrying the blue-egg gene without a defined breed standard; their egg colors and appearance vary widely. If you want a guaranteed blue egg, Ameraucana is the breed to choose.
What color will my Ameraucana be?
Most chicks hatch as splash plumage. We can also produce blue and black. At checkout you can leave a color preference and we’ll do our best to honor it.
Are Ameraucanas cold-hardy?
Very. The pea comb is one of the most cold-hardy comb shapes in any chicken breed — it has far less surface area to freeze than a single comb. Combined with the bird’s substantial frame and feathering, Ameraucanas handle cold climates beautifully.
