Who is Alchemist Farm?
We are a small family farm team in Northern California. We specialize in beautiful chickens that lay fun and unique egg colors to add depth to your daily egg collecting baskets. In maintaining our commitment to a more sustainable planet, the farm and hatchery now run on 100% solar power and all of our shipments are 100% plastic free. We will begin hatching and offering weekly pickup orders February 17th 2026, weekly shipments will begin March 24th 2026.
The minimum order for shipped chicks from March 24th-May 26th is 10 to guarantee live arrival. From June 2nd– September 29th the minimum is 6 chicks. For the month of October the minimum goes back up to 10 chicks. We have these seasonal minimums to ensure the safety of our chicks in their travel journey fro us to you. Any orders with less than our seasonal minimums will automatically have the difference made up in free male chicks, farm choice. We do offer split orders if you want to go in on an order with a friend to meet the minimums and save on shipping, just let us know which chicks are for who in the notes section of checkout so we can help you keep them straight when you receive them 🙂
Shipping for chicks is always overnight express and a flat rate of $60 for up to 75 chicken chicks. Bulk wholesale pricing is available for folks who have larger space who would like to bring our egg rainbow into their lives. Send us an email to inquire about pricing.
Farm pickups of chicks are always free and there are no minimum numbers of chicks needed though we do recommend at least 2 so you do not have a lonely chick.
We ship orders out every Tuesday morning and offer farm pickups for locals on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday each week by appointment. When selecting farm pickup you will be able to book a pickup day and time for your chicks.
